Cancer – In partnership with the Cancer Prevention & Research Institute of Texas, UT researchers are developing antibody-like therapeutics to treat cytomegalovirus-positive glioblastomas, a brain tumor with no known cure. In another project, UT researchers are developing a multi-functional antibody to treat pediatric brain tumors called diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG).

Infectious Disease – In collaboration with Fundação de Desenvolvimento da Pesquisa in Brazil, UT researchers are isolating monoclonal antibodies with therapeutic potential against the Yellow Fever Virus. The project utilizes technology only available at UT – to comprehensively identify, at high throughput, high-affinity human cross-reactive serum antibodies and delineate the molecular nature of cross-reactive antibody generation.

Mechanism and Discovery – UT researchers are researching antibody Fc-dependent effector functions, which are central to the mechanism of action of numerous therapeutic antibodies for the treatment infectious diseases and cancer. We are also partnering with the Clayton Foundation to discover and optimize therapeutic antibodies using our Eclonal Technology.
